In a back seat of the library, Mira showed something to Hiyori.

It was an old diary.

"You're showing me this...?" Hiyori was surprised.

Mira nodded. But her hands were shaking slightly.

Sora was watching the two from a distance. Unsure whether to approach, but Hiyori beckoned.

"Mira-san showed me her diary."

Sora sat down quietly. "That takes courage."

Mira wrote in her notebook. "Scared. But want to open."

Hiyori gently asked, "What do you want to open?"

"The door of my heart."

Sora understood. "Self-disclosure."

Mira nodded.

Hiyori began to explain, "Self-disclosure is a necessary process for building intimate relationships."

"But there's risk too," Sora said.

"Yes. Possibility of rejection. Possibility of being hurt."

Mira wrote. "That's why I'm scared."

Hiyori said quietly, "That fear is natural. Showing vulnerability takes courage."

Sora supplemented, "In psychology, there's a model of intimacy stages."

"Stages?"

"Relationships deepen gradually. You don't need to bare everything from the start."

Hiyori explained, "Stage one is superficial information. Name, hobbies, favorite foods."

"Stage two is opinions and thoughts. Politics, values, life philosophy."

Sora continued, "Stage three is emotions. Anxiety, fear, desires."

"And stage four is deep secrets. Past wounds, shame, vulnerability."

Mira wrote. "What stage am I trying to open now?"

Hiyori looked at Mira's diary. "I think stages three and four."

"Am I rushing?"

"No," Sora answered. "If you feel ready, that's the timing."

Mira asked. "How do you know? That you're ready?"

Hiyori thought. "Can you trust the other person? Can you feel you'll be okay even if rejected?"

Sora added, "And is your motivation for disclosure healthy?"

"Motivation?"

"Are you seeking genuine connection, not just approval?"

Mira slowly nodded. "I want to connect. As my true self."

Hiyori smiled. "That's a healthy motivation."

"But," Mira wrote. "If I show everything, they might leave."

"It's possible," Sora answered honestly.

Hiyori said gently, "But staying close while hiding your true self, or being accepted by showing your true self. Which is a real connection?"

Mira thought. After a long silence, she wrote. "The latter."

"Yes," Sora acknowledged. "There's research saying true solitude is better than false connection."

"But," Hiyori added. "Even if you show the truth, there are people who will accept you."

Mira looked at them both. "You two?"

"We will accept Mira-san, whoever you are," Hiyori said calmly.

Sora nodded. "Your vulnerability is not weakness. It's courage."

Tears welled up in Mira's eyes.

Hiyori gently reached out. "Take your time. You don't need to open everything today."

"Little by little is fine," Sora said. "One door, one secret, one emotion."

Mira took a deep breath. She opened the first page of the diary.

It said, "As a child, I couldn't talk to anyone."

Hiyori listened quietly. "That must have been painful."

Mira nodded. Tears flowed.

Sora waited quietly. Not rushing. Just being there.

Mira opened the next page. "I was lonely. But I got used to loneliness."

"You had to get used to it," Hiyori understood.

Mira wrote. "Even now, I don't know how to connect."

"But now, you're trying to connect," Sora pointed out. "At this moment, you're connecting with us."

Mira looked surprised.

"Self-disclosure is the beginning of connection," Hiyori said. "You don't need to be perfect."

Mira smiled slightly. "I opened. Just a little."

"It's enough," Sora acknowledged. "A big step."

Hiyori said lastly, "You don't need to open all the doors of your heart at once. Little by little, at a safe pace."

Mira wrote on a new page. "Thank you. For accepting me."

"Thank you too," Hiyori smiled. "For your trust."

Sora added, "Thank you for showing vulnerability."

The three sat quietly. Soft light streamed through the library window.

The day when the door of the heart opened, just a little. It was also the day when real connection began.
